Production Supervisor Manufacturing

Our client the leader in designing, manufacturing and distributing building materials with innovative solutions for energy efficiency and environmental protection currently had a need in their Ohio facility for two Production Supervisors to cover off shift operations. This position supervises and coordinates multiple activities to ensure the production of high performance products with the quality, delivery, and cost to meet customer's requirements. Direct, first-line supervision of extrusion and supporting functions such as compounding, quality control, material handling, maintenance, and toolroom.
Position Description
Manage daily operations of extrusion department as well as coordinating with other departments to meet facility/corporate objectives
Monitor and react to established performance indicators, including:
budget variances, production, quality and safety metrics
Prioritize/Lead in continuous process/production improvements using Lean/Six Sigma Methodology
Provide technical support to prevent/resolve manufacturing problems.
Exhibit and assure department conformance to safety awareness and safe work practices
Participate in all related personnel activities, including selection, training, skill assessment, coordination/tracking of OT and discipline
Profile
This position requires a thorough knowledge of the work supervised, typically gained through experience coupled with some formal training. It further requires an understanding of clients' facility and its practices and procedures. A high level of human relation's skills to develop and motivate direct reports is essential. Flexibility in schedule is necessary in order to meet the requirements of this position.
Requirements
Prefer Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business or other related field
5-8 years manufacturing experience
3-5 supervision experience (Union Environment preferred)
Hands on computer knowledge (MS Office, production reporting MRP system, Kronos Timekeeping).
Excellent mathematical computation and problem solving skills
Team development/coaching skills with employee empowerment philosophies.
Lean/Six Sigma Experience
Ability to Drive ChangeEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
